How to Offer Member-Specific Discounts on Zeffy

Offer Member-Only Discounts on Zeffy

You can offer exclusive pricing to your members in two ways:

  • Member-only ticket types (recommended): Restrict a ticket so that only supporters with an active membership can purchase it. Zeffy automatically verifies eligibility at checkout.

  • Discount codes: Create a promotional code that you share exclusively with your members.


Method 1: Create a Member-Only Ticket

Member-only tickets allow you to restrict the purchase of a specific ticket type to supporters with an eligible active membership.

Important: Each active membership can be used to purchase one member-only ticket order per event campaign.

Before you begin

You must have at least one active membership campaign in your Zeffy account before you can create member-only tickets.

If you haven't created a membership campaign yet, set one up first.

How to configure a member-only ticket

  1. Open the event campaign where you want to offer member pricing.

  2. Click Edit to open the campaign editor.

  3. In the left-hand menu, select Tickets.

  4. Find the ticket you want to restrict and click More options.

  5. Select Make this ticket members only.

  6. Under Applies to, choose which membership type is eligible.

    • Select a specific membership rate if only certain members should qualify.

    • Leave the default selection (All) if any active membership should be eligible.

  7. Click Save & Exit.

Once saved, the ticket will be marked as a member-only ticket.


Method 2: Create a Discount Code for Members

If you'd rather not use member-only ticket validation, you can create a discount code and distribute it exclusively to your members.

How to create a discount code

  1. Log in to your Zeffy dashboard on a computer.

  2. Go to Campaigns.

  3. Edit an existing event campaign or create a new one.

  4. In the left-hand menu, select Discount Codes.

  5. Click Add Discount Code.

  6. Enter a code (for example, MEMBER2025 or VIPACCESS).

  7. Choose either:

    • a percentage discount, or

    • a fixed dollar amount.

  8. (Optional) Set a usage limit.

  9. Click Save.


Sharing the Discount Code

You can distribute your member discount code by:

  • Emailing it directly to current members.

  • Including it in membership confirmation emails.

  • Printing it on membership cards or welcome packages.

  • Sharing it through member newsletters or other member-only communications.


Important Notes

  • Discount codes are case-sensitive.

  • Only one discount code can be applied per purchase.

  • Keep member discount codes private to preserve their exclusivity.


Tracking Discount Code Usage

You can monitor how member discounts are being used in two ways:

View individual transactions

Go to Payments and open a specific transaction to see which discount code was applied.

Export payment data

Export your payment report and review the Discount Code column to analyze usage across all purchases.
