Ask questions about your fundraising data with the Data Assistant
The Data Assistant answers questions about your fundraising data in plain words. Ask things like "How much came in this month?" or "Which campaign did best?" and get an answer, with a bar, line, or pie chart when the answer shows a trend or a comparison. You'll find it on the Insights page of your Zeffy dashboard, and it's available to all organization owners.
Ask your first question
Open the Data Assistant from your dashboard's Insights page, then ask in your own words or pick one of the suggested first questions it lists.
Open your Zeffy dashboard and go to the Insights page.
Open the Data Assistant and type your question in plain words, or click one of the suggested questions to get started.
Read the answer. When the answer is a trend or a comparison, it comes with a bar, line, or pie chart.
Questions you can ask include:
How much came in this month?
Which campaign did best?
Who gave last year but not this year?
How much did we raise at the gala compared to last year?
If your question is missing a detail the assistant needs, it asks you to clarify before answering instead of guessing.
Keep the conversation going
Follow-ups work in the same conversation, so you don't repeat yourself. For example, after an answer you can ask to "Export this list" and the assistant knows which list you mean. If you close the conversation and come back later, the context is still there.
Export the data behind an answer
Answers can go further than the screen: ask the assistant for the data, or use the Export button to download it as an Excel file with the columns and filters you asked for. For the standard export paths in your dashboard, see Reports and exporting data.
Ask about answers to your custom checkout questions
The Data Assistant can answer questions built on the custom questions on your forms, such as asking for participants who chose a particular meal option. A few things to know about how it counts and groups those answers:
Choice and free-text answers are grouped with the number of orders and the amounts, and small spelling or spacing differences are treated as the same answer.
Free-text answers that look similar but are not clearly the same are pointed out to you rather than merged.
Email, phone, and address answers are never grouped.
Only complete orders count: orders with a payment visible in your dashboard, and free orders. Answers on canceled tickets are not included.
For a manual report of the same data, see View and download a report with answers to custom questions.
Zeffy also connects to Claude or ChatGPT
The Data Assistant described here lives in your Zeffy dashboard and needs nothing outside Zeffy. Zeffy also offers two ways to ask questions about your data from outside Zeffy: connect your organization to Claude or ChatGPT directly, or use the older Zeffy AI Assistant custom GPT in ChatGPT. See Connect Zeffy to Claude or ChatGPT and Using the Zeffy AI Assistant in ChatGPT.
