Can I reuse my campaign link and QR code for a new campaign?
Each campaign has its own unique link and QR code, which cannot be transferred to another campaign.
For the clearest year-over-year tracking, we recommend creating a new campaign each year. This gives you a fresh total starting at $0, keeps each year’s donations separate, and generates a new link and QR code.
To save time, you can clone the previous campaign instead of rebuilding it from scratch. If keeping the same QR code is essential, you can continue using the original campaign and move last year’s donations to a separate campaign. Once those payments are reassigned, the original campaign’s displayed total will return to $0.
Why we recommend starting a new campaign
A new campaign starts at $0 and tracks only this year's donations, which is why we recommend creating one for each fundraiser. An existing campaign's link and QR code are tied to that campaign: the URL is set when the campaign is created and cannot be changed afterwards, and editing a campaign never changes its links. Reusing the original campaign means keeping last year's link and QR code, with last year's donations still counted in its total.
Start fresh: clone your campaign
Cloning copies your campaign's configuration into a new campaign that has its own link and QR code and starts at $0, so you keep your setup without carrying last year's totals forward. To clone a campaign:
Log in to your Zeffy dashboard on a computer.
Go to Campaigns.
Click the three dots (⋯) next to the campaign you want to reuse.
Select Clone.
Enter a new name when prompted. The name becomes part of the new campaign's URL, and the URL cannot be changed after creation.
Update what needs to change for this year's campaign, including dates and images, then click Save.
The cloned campaign appears in your campaigns list with its own link and QR code and a $0 total, and the original campaign is left as it was. If the campaign has a scheduled reminder email, it is copied to the clone as a draft and must be reviewed and scheduled manually — it will not be sent automatically. For the full walkthrough, see How can I duplicate or clone my form?.
When you're ready to promote this year's campaign, retrieve the new link from Share. You can download the new QR code from the same menu.
Keep the same QR code by moving last year's donations
If the QR code on your printed materials has to keep working, keep the original campaign and move last year's donations to a separate campaign instead of cloning. The QR code is tied to the campaign page it was created for, so keeping the campaign keeps the QR code working. Moving the donations away removes those amounts from the original campaign's displayed total, letting it start this year at $0.
This is done manually, one donation at a time. Create the campaign that will hold last year's donations before you start:
Create the holding campaign: go to Campaigns, click + New campaign, and select Donation Campaign.
Go to Payments in your dashboard.
Find the donation by donor and open the transaction.
Click More in the top right, then move donation.
Select the campaign that will hold last year's donations.
Repeat for each donation from the previous year.
Once every donation has been moved, the original campaign's displayed total returns to $0 and its link and QR code continue to work. Refresh the fundraising page to see the adjusted total.
When you move a monthly donation, every donation made before the move is moved too; it isn't possible to move only the portion after a certain date.
Donations can only be moved between donation forms, and never between two different Zeffy accounts.
Moving donations is covered in full in Move a donation to another form.
Non-donation campaigns: clone instead
For events, raffles, online stores, and other non-donation campaigns, cloning is the best option: their payments cannot be moved to another campaign, so the reset-to-$0 workaround has no equivalent. Clone the campaign and share the new link and QR code.
