🇬🇧 Gift Aid is a UK government programme that adds 25% to eligible donations from UK taxpayers at no cost to your non-profit.
🇬🇧 Gift Aid is only available for UK charities that are registered registered with HMRC for tax purposes.
You can connect your Swiftaid account to offer Gift Aid on your donations by following these steps:
- Log into your Zeffy Account
- Go to your Bank tab to link your bank account
- After you have connected your bank account to Zeffy, you will be taken to this screen:
- Log into your Swiftaid account in a seperate tab
- Once in your Swiftaid account, click on “Donation sources”
- Add Zeffy
- Come back to Zeffy to click “Check my connection”
Congratulations, you are now connected to Swiftaid and are able to offer your donors Gift Aid!
How will Gift Aid look on my forms?
- When a donor goes to make a donation, their screen will look like this:
- Once your donor has selected their donation amount and if your account is connected to Swiftaid, the option to claim Gift Aid will show up like this:

Can I have Gift Aid enabled on only some of my forms?
No, it is not possible to have GiftAid showing only on some forms. If GiftAid is enabled, it is enabled on all of your forms.
What forms/purchases can Gift Aid be claimed on?
Gift Aid is offered on on your donation forms, your peer-to-peer campaigns, and any forms which have additional donations enabled. Please note, for forms with additional donations Gift Aid will only be applied to the additional donation.
Gift Aid cannot be claimed on ticket or item purchases, meaning it cannot be claimed on event forms or online shop forms.
Can I connect to Swiftaid after creating my account?
Yes! You can connect to Swiftaid after creating your account by following these steps:
- Click on your name in the bottom left corner of your account
- Click on "Settings"
- Under Organization, click on "Connect Swiftaid"
- Follow the instructions on your screen to connect to Swiftaid, which will enable Gift Aid on your eligible forms
My organization is not eligible for Gift Aid - can I still use Zeffy?
Yes! You do not need to be eligible for Gift Aid, but you can still use Zeffy. When creating your Zeffy account, you will be required to provide your Registered Charity Number or Companies House CRN for verification purposes.
