How will imported data appear in Zeffy?

This article explains how your imported contacts and payments will be displayed in your Zeffy dashboard after completing an import.

Contact Imports

Where can I see imported contacts?
  • Imported contacts will appear under your "Contacts" tab in your dashboard
  • Each imported contact will have an associated profile page where all the information you provided during import will be pre-filled
  • You can view and access individual contact profiles by clicking on their name in the Contacts list
Important things to know about contact display:
  • Email is the primary identifier for contacts in Zeffy
  • If a contact has multiple email addresses, they will have multiple contact pages
  • If multiple contacts share the same email address, only one name will be chosen as the primary name for that contact
  • If a contact is imported without an email and later makes a payment using an email address, they will have two separate contact pages
Editing contact information:
  • Most contact information can be edited directly on the contact page after import
  • Go to "Contacts" > Select the contact > Edit their information as needed
  • Note: The contact's language preference cannot be edited once imported (defaults to English if left blank)
Organizing imported contacts:
  • Use the "Note" column during import to add specific identifiers
  • Search for contacts with specific notes using the search bar at the top of the Contacts page
  • Tag contacts after import to group them for easier management
  • Use filters to segment and organize your contacts based on various criteria

Payment Imports

Where can I see imported payments?
  • Imported payments will appear in the "Payments" section of your dashboard
  • Each payment will be listed with its associated transaction details
  • Payments will be linked to contact profiles automatically (by association with the contact's email address)
Important things to know about payment display:
  • Each imported payment automatically creates or updates a contact profile
  • If a contact already exists with the same email address, the imported payment will be associated with that existing contact
  • Payment details cannot be edited once imported
  • Individual imported payments cannot be deleted - you must delete the entire import and redo it if corrections are needed
Viewing payment history:
  • All imported payments will be integrated with your regular payment history
  • Use filters to sort and view imported payments
  • Access payment details by clicking on individual transactions
