This guide walks you through setting up your Zeffy account as an Irish not-for-profit organisations.
Before you begin
Have these ready before starting your account setup:
Organisation registration details โ Registered Charity Number (RCN) and a CHY number (if applicable)
Organisation's full legal address โ the street address in Ireland.
Government-issued photo ID โ passport or national identity card for the person completing the setup.
Bank account details โ IBAN and BIC for the organization's bank account.
Step 1 โ Create your Zeffy account
Go to Zeffy and sign up with your name and email. You'll then choose your organisation type:
Registered Charity โ select this if your charity is registered with the Charities Regulator and holds a valid charity number.
If your organisation does not have a charity registration number, it is not currently possible to use Zeffy.
Step 2 โ Tell us about your organisation
Fill in your organization details:
Organisation name and full Irish address (street, city, county, Eircode).
Time zone โ Zeffy will detect this automatically based on your address.
Payment descriptor
Official website or public social media page (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
Step 3 โ Verify your account representative's identity
The person completing the setup must verify their identity by uploading a government-issued photo ID and a selfie.
Acceptable forms of identification:
Passport
Irish driver's licence
Business executive information
During verification, you may be asked to share information about your business executives โ this is a generic term used by Stripe referring to individuals with significant management responsibility, such as directors, officers, or senior managers.
If you choose to provide business executive details, you will need to provide identification and information for all executives. This includes:
Full legal name
Date of birth
Residential address
All members listed as executives must be verified. You cannot complete verification by providing information for only some of your organisation executives.
Step 4 โ Accept the connected account agreement
Review and accept Zeffy's connected account agreement. By agreeing, you confirm that the information you've provided is accurate and that you have the authority to set up the account on your organization's behalf.
Step 5 โ Add your bank account
Add the bank account where you'd like donations to be deposited. You'll need:
IBAN โ your International Bank Account Number.
Donations clear to your account based on Zeffy's standard payout schedule. Learn more about payout schedules.
The bank account must be in your organization's name. Personal bank accounts cannot be connected to Zeffy.
Step 6 โ Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)
For account security, set up 2FA using either an authenticator app or SMS codes. This adds an extra layer of protection to your account.
You're all set
Once your account is verified, you can start creating donation forms, ticketing pages, and campaigns โ and start receiving donations the same day.

Raffle and lottery regulations in Ireland are governed by the Gaming and Lotteries Acts. Depending on the total value of prizes and the nature of the lottery, you may need a licence or permit from your local Garda superintendent or the District Court. Check the current requirements before running a raffle on Zeffy.
For verification purposes with our payment processing partner, Stripe, you may be asked to provide one of the following to verify the legal status of your organisation:
Charity Registration Certificate (from the Charities Regulator)
Revenue CHY Determination Letter
Certificate of Incorporation (from the Companies Registration Office)
Constitution or governing document
Bank statement in the organisation's name
Utility bill or official government document showing the organisation's legal name and address
