Are Zeffy's tax receipts compliant with national government authority requirements (IRS, CRA, ATO)?

Zeffy stays up to date with any changes and new regulations from the IRS, CRA and ATO.

Zeffy tax receipts are fully IRS compliant.

To generate tax receipts automatically or manually in Zeffy, you must be a 501c organization. You can check your organization type in your account settings. To get there, click on your name > go to "Settings" > select "Organization information" to view or update your organization type.ย

The receipts issued include your charity number, the electronic signature of the authorized person within organization and all other information required by Canadian law and Canadian Revenue Agency guidelines.

To generate tax receipts for your donors in Zeffy, you must have a CRA number and you must add an electronic signature in your account settings. To get to your settings, login to Zeffy > click on your name > select "Settings" > select "Organization information" and you will see where you import an electronic signature.

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ In Australia

Zeffy's tax receipts are compliant with Australian tax laws for charities with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. Receipts issued to Australian donors include all required information:

  • Receipt number

  • Date of donation

  • Your organization's Australian Business Number (ABN)

  • Donor name and address

  • Donation amount

  • The statement: "This organisation is endorsed as a DGR. This donation is tax-deductible."

Australian receipt numbers follow this format: [ABN_LAST4]-[YYYY]-[SEQUENTIAL_7] (example: 8901-2026-0000123).

All receipts are stored for 5 years in accordance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) retention requirements.
