Why am I still asked to provide additional information to verify my account?

Here's the foolproof way to get your account verified according to new Canadian Stripe Requirements.

 ⚠️ Why is this urgent?

‼️Key dates

March 5, 2025:
Your payouts will be paused until verification is completed.

March 26, 2025: Your Zeffy forms will no longer accept payments if verification remains incomplete.

For a detailed step by step guide, see the below tutorial!

Attempted many times already?

Even though you might have attempted this many times, if you see a little orange dot over the "Bank" tab of the left-side menu, your account was not successfully verified and an update is required.

The best way to complete your verification is to submit a signed resolution, using the Stripe approved template we've specially designed for this purpose.

This single document can help verify both your business registration AND board of directors verification.

➡️Please follow the steps below to successfully complete your business registration and directorship verification.

How to complete your verification

1. Open our resolution template from the link above

2. Make a copy of the template to create and edit your own

screenshot resolution eng

3. Add your information in the template, EXACTLY as listed in Zeffy, while making sure to respect its format.

  • Enter your organization's name
  • Include your complete address
  • Add your business registration number (if applicable)
  • List current board members, exactly as listed in Zeffy.

4. Save your resolution template

5. To provide the required information, login to your Zeffy account.

6. In the left side menu, head to the ''Bank'' tab.

7. A yellow warning banner should appear at the top. Click "Update your information" to be directed to Stripe's verification portal.

8. Look for red boxes labeled ''Information required''. Those are the ones that will need to be updated.

⚠️ The sections where information is required will have the red "Information required" next to it.

9. Submit the information. When you submit in Stripe, it will seem as though it was fully verified. Please check back the following day to make sure you do not have another yellow notice. Sometimes, after verifying, Stripe will return another error, meaning your document or information was not accepted.

Still not working?

  • Review the tutorial above for a step-by-step tutorial to successfully complete your verification
  • Make sure to upload the file directly - scanned documents or photos of photos tend to get rejected
  • Double-check the director names as even the smallest differences can cause rejection
  • Make sure the organisation name and address added on your signed resolution template exactly match the legal entity name in your Stripe profile and the address

As a reminder, to comply with FINTRAC requirements, all Canadian Stripe users must provide information to verify their business and directorship.

For additional information on why this is requested, please see this article: New Canadian Stripe Requirements as of August 7th.
